Men’s Health Urbanathlon – Singapore – 2012

This is hands down, the FUNNEST run ever!! The obstacles made it all so tougher. And the route is just SO SO SO SCENIC!!!

Continuing from the previous post, we were sleeping soundly when at 5am, I could hear the downpour outside. I was like ‘Shit… I didn’t come all the way here to sleep!!?’. Lucky the rain stop around 5:30am. We were suppose to meet another of our colleague at Inncrowd’s lobby at 6:15. So by 6am, we were at the lobby/lounge having some toast and hard boiled eggs.

So come 6:15, we took a slow walk towards The Plaza and meet another 2 more colleagues, which officially completed Team Ka Na Sai!!

The funny part was, our team Kapitan actually received a phone interview from some newspaper, to get some feedback from participants from the Financial Institutions. And when they heard that our team is made up of 2 Malaysians and 3 Singaporeans, they said ‘Oh… So your team name KNS is KL n Singapore?’.

One of the many CLEAR signages along the entire route. Another good thing about the run is that roughly every 200-300m, you will have a volunteer along the way giving you some motivation cheer or just reminding you that it’s slippery ahead or something.

Men's Health Urbanathlon - 2012

I'm in a bus now on my way back to KL from Singapore. And we are supposedly 40 minutes from Bangsar but the traffic is super heavy. So we will be stuck in the bus for easily another hour.

I've survived the TOUGHEST race in Singapore!!! With a time of 1hr44min; target set was below 2 hours. So... YAY!!!

Going back a day before, Wilfred (colleague) and I took the bus down to Singapore, First Coach. Bus was comfy. We each have a screen to ourselves with tons of movies to choose from. MY to SG is RM50 and SG to MY is RM70.

And our accommodation for the night in Singapore, Inncrowd.

For SGD20, it's really a good deal.

And the location is a 10 minutes walk from where our bus stopped, The Plaza, which is directly opposite where our race will start, Nicoll Highway Station.

Upon checking in, we were given a locker, a pillow case, bed sheets and blanket. We also had free breakfast in the morning; hardboiled eggs and bread with jam and butter.

Stay tuned for more pictures to come when!!

Timex Run Trainer

I am a proud owner of a Timex Run Trainer GPS watch!!!

 photo 1

There’s really no point for me to write a review when there’s a fantastic in depth one by DC Rainmaker.

The watch is definitely big, and more so on my tiny tiny wrist. But no biggie. It would have been better if the software below can be downloaded and used offline, rather than having to go online to review everything… :s troublesome…

And the application is like super complicated… Very unlikely I’ll use it to it’s fullest.. hahahaha…

Anyway if you are reading this and are from Malaysia, and interested to get a Timex Run Trainer, go online. eBay!!! The humongous Timex Global Trainer is retailing at RM1999, according to their website. And they don’t even have the Run Trainer yet… but I doubt it’ll be any cheaper… I bought mine for below RM1000.
