Energizer Night Trail – Singapore - 280412

Exactly 1 week after Malaysia’s Energizer’s run in Sepang, we made our way down to Singapore for their Night Trail run, to take on the rocky trails of Mandai. 7 of us took the bus down, 4 to tackle the trails and 3 to tackle the concrete jungle of the island. While Energizer Malaysia was ran with my PB pace, Energizer Singapore was ran with my worst. Mistake was late lunch at 4pm. I think I have slower digestive system compared to the rest. We started the run around 7:45pm, and 2km into the run, I was having bad stitches which won’t go away. I think I walked 80% of the time. Win some… Lose some…

Here’s my boy on his way to G-Pet the day before for boarding. photo 2

My iPad was loaded with tons of movies for the 6 hours bus ride. So how can we not have some kick azz popcorns?!photo 1

Grabbing breakfast before catching our bus to Singapore. It was April 28th, ie 428. So we were anxiously reading bout news prior to Bersih 3.0. P1050341

Our pre run lunch at 4pm.

I think ribs was a bad idea as meat takes longer to digest… I also had some cheesy baked macaroni…photo 2(1)

Vibram Spyridon LS for the run. If I am to choose again, I won’t wear this because the trail was rocky and it was a night run, I had to rely heavily on the head lamp and watch my step closely. Stepping on sharp stones, not funny. If it was day, I’d wear this shoe for sure. P1050351

That’s positive energy!P1050355

We reached there around 6:30pm, and the crowd was just started to gather. P1050356

Giant slides for the kids only!? WTF!? What about us adults?!P1050357

Free drinks and snacks as usual. The free Magnum ice cream was a BOMBz!P1050358

All ready to run!

Some whack job dressed up like a ghost. I always lke those people who take the time to dress up and have fun, EXCEPT for this dumb fuck. It was a night trail for FUCK sake!! Got no common sense or what?!?! Don’t they know there are LOTS of pantang things when you are in the woods?!?! ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT!!! Dumb cibai!!! Dress like that nevermind, at the start of the race somemore wanna scream like kena rape by horse!!! (I didn’t see her scream, but pretty sure it was her…)

Another dumb ass was a girl who was running ahead of me somewhere in the trail. It was a dark stretch and she thought I was her friend. Suddenly she said ‘Eh… how come got so strong pandan smell?!’ Aiyo… stupid or what…!?

P1050371

On your mark!

P1050373

Get set!

P1050374

Stick your finger in your nose!!P1050375

We started the race at the 20th minute, after the 1st wave.

P1050383

And I walked past the finishing line at 2 hour 8 minutes. So I ran a 12km trail in 1 hour 50 minutes… :|

P1050392

Their finisher medal looks better than Malaysia’s… but they have no finisher T… :|

P1050396

Something different compared to Malaysia’s… the running chip is a sponge at the bottom of the bib.

Energizer Night Run 2012

I think this run can be call my PB. But then I don't know PB for what also. Everytime see ppl say PB here PB there.

I managed an average pace of 6:45 for 15.5km. Usually I just try to stay below a 8:00 pace.

Maybe because I was running bibless and chipless. Everytime I saw those volunteers, I'll try to hide. Tension gile. I gave my bib and chip to a friend who didn't get to register. So I just run with their vest.

Please note, the only advantage I took was their drinks. That also because I dropped one of my waist bottle in the first KM. :-( When I crosses the finish line, a girl wanna give me a certificate. I waved my hand and walk off. Clap Clap Clap!!!!

I think after a horrendous event last year, Energizer is gonna make sure they redeem themselves.

Which I think they did. The only comment I have is we were stuck at the tunnel going in to the starting line. But if we had read the guide, we would have gone in earlier.

After the run, as usual we need some serious food to reward ourselves.

We went to Sri Petaling to have dim sum, and had this awesome Loh Mai Kai PAU.

And my shoe for the run was none other than my faithful Fivefingers BIKILA.

Jelly Jelly Legs

It's another Saturday, and the training continues. Location, Lake Garden once again. I told myself that I will try to run 21km every Saturday until my Stand Chart marathon... :-o

Today, I wore my HAPPY SOCKs!!! Walao... The colorZ... See liow also wanna faint. Mata sure sakit. Sometimes, we gotta do funky things to spice things up and keep the passion burning. So when I went to Running Lab and saw these colorful Injinji, I couldn't resist.

Back to Lake Garden, after 2 loops+ (1 loop is around 2.2km) we decided to do the stairzzzz... And we ended up doing 10 sets, up & down count as 1 set. Walao... Don't play play... My calves super sakit the day after.

And after much torture, a power meal is the only way to go. And I strongly recommend this restaurant below; Pu Tien.

Try their fried mee hoon and 'up soup round veggie'. It was the best ever, period. And because we ordered all small portions to share, we didn't stop eating after Pu Tien...

We went to Friday's and had a Tennessee Burger... :-| sinful? Hell yeah... But who gives a fuck!? It was awesomely good!!! Their 'new' dessert (chocolate crispy something) didn't quite make it. We notify the Supervisor and she took it out from our bill and belanja us something else... TGIF!!!!

My 2nd Half Marathon!!

Location, Lake Gardens. We started our run around 8am, and we ran for 10km before it started raining heavily. So we had no choice but to sit and watch under one of the huts.

photo 3 (1)

I think it rained for 45 minutes before we continued running again while it was still drizzling. It kinda feels better running in the rain coz it’s cooling, but it felt heavier. We ran for another 10km+ before the sun came out and things started to heat up. Not so funny…

photo 4 (1)

It’s really not easy running 21km with no finisher T or medal to motivate you!! Luckily we were motivating each other and WOOT WOOT!!

And to celebrate our achievement and feed our super hungry body, we went to Chili’s.

photo 5

And I suggested to share their stupid Chicken and Portobello, thinking that we need all the protein we can get.

photo 3

Couldn’t believe my eyes when it arrived. Seriously, check out the mushroom… :|

photo 4

And here’s the BEST part. I called for the manager, and showed him the menu and what’s in front of us. He apologized and took the plate away. And brought the below picture back.

photo 2

And the manager said, ‘Sorry, they forgot to cut it.’ SERIOUSLY!?!?!? WTF!??!!? And the day is just not meant to be coz we went to Tong Pak Fu and ordered their shitty mango and pomelo shit, and also their black sesame and peanut glutinous shit ball. Both FAILED.

photo 5 (1)

And when I got home… SHOCKER. I was burnt!!
