Tried running last weekend at Lake Gardens but the pain was too much. Ended doing stairs a few rounds before feasting myself again...<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/30/631.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/30/s_631.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />So instead of running to train for the 26th of June, I'm eating to train. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/30/632.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/30/s_632.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone<br />KYFKhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09447991598591049380noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6700213746310366866.post-32046434168371077092012-05-19T22:52:00.001+08:002012-05-19T22:52:38.652+08:00KL Tower International Towerthon 2012I think it was over in 30 minutes. I was really expecting something longer. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/19/1473.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/19/s_1473.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />But it was a tough one. I really need to do some proper research on food consumption prior to run. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/19/1476.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/19/s_1476.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />The run started at 4pm, n my lunch was around 12 noon. Although it was hours before, I think it was too heavy. I had mixed rice.. 3 pieces of curry chicken... 3 pieces of herbal chicken... Veggie... And a big piece of fried drumstick. I finished everything. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/19/1479.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/19/s_1479.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />The first KM up the hill to the base of the tower almost pancit-ed me. :-s and the steps that followed was madness. I kept burping my lunch... <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/19/1480.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/19/s_1480.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Lesson learned, not so much meat, or rice, or anything heavy before a run. A very bad habit of mine; eating heavy all the time. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/19/1481.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/19/s_1481.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And I did just that after the runS. After the Towerthon, we went to KLCC to run at their park. But after 2.5km, it started raining. So... It's MAKAN time!!<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/19/1482.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/19/s_1482.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And there was yoghurt ice cream, prawn fish head noodle, and claypot Loh Shi Fun. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/19/1483.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/19/s_1483.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And don't forget the free Milo that's always there for you. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/19/1484.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/19/s_1484.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And since their tshirt was terrible, and quality of medal also so so... While Energizer Malaysia was ran with my PB pace, Energizer Singapore was ran with my worst. Mistake was late lunch at 4pm. I think I have slower digestive system compared to the rest. We started the run around 7:45pm, and 2km into the run, I was having bad stitches which won’t go away. I think I walked 80% of the time. Win some… Lose some… </p> <p align="center">Here’s my boy on his way to G-Pet the day before for boarding. <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-UoowBfJm8t8/T56KY5V5itI/AAAAAAAAH28/TgZOWA3FomM/s1600-h/photo%2525202%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="photo 2" border="0" alt="photo 2" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-u5k62McvaP4/T56KZwtHHtI/AAAAAAAAH3E/iq1NYqSOXC8/photo%2525202_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="220" height="291"></a> </p> <p align="center">My iPad was loaded with tons of movies for the 6 hours bus ride. But then I don't know PB for what also. Everytime see ppl say PB here PB there. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/04/25/705.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/04/25/s_705.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />I managed an average pace of 6:45 for 15.5km. Usually I just try to stay below a 8:00 pace. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/04/25/706.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/04/25/s_706.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Maybe because I was running bibless and chipless. Everytime I saw those volunteers, I'll try to hide. Tension gile. I gave my bib and chip to a friend who didn't get to register. So I just run with their vest. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/04/25/707.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/04/25/s_707.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Please note, the only advantage I took was their drinks. That also because I dropped one of my waist bottle in the first KM. :-( When I crosses the finish line, a girl wanna give me a certificate. I waved my hand and walk off. Clap Clap Clap!!!!<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/04/25/708.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/04/25/s_708.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />I think after a horrendous event last year, Energizer is gonna make sure they redeem themselves. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/04/25/710.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/04/25/s_710.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Which I think they did. Location, Lake Garden once again. I told myself that I will try to run 21km every Saturday until my Stand Chart marathon... :-o<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/04/14/4181.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/04/14/s_4181.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Today, I wore my HAPPY SOCKs!!! Walao... The colorZ... See liow also wanna faint. Mata sure sakit. Sometimes, we gotta do funky things to spice things up and keep the passion burning. And we ended up doing 10 sets, up & down count as 1 set. Walao... Don't play play... My calves super sakit the day after.<br /><br />And after much torture, a power meal is the only way to go. And I strongly recommend this restaurant below; Pu Tien. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/04/14/4183.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/04/14/s_4183.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Try their fried mee hoon and 'up soup round veggie'. We started our run around 8am, and we ran for 10km before it started raining heavily. So we had no choice but to sit and watch under one of the huts. </p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-UzRi_Kdb9s0/T4gdsc6_khI/AAAAAAAAHu4/-9ifxnsKtnQ/s1600-h/photo%2525203%252520%2525281%252529%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="photo 3 (1)" border="0" alt="photo 3 (1)" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ZRyD5baJ_Qo/T4gdtd3dtuI/AAAAAAAAHvA/Tgp-g90jix4/photo%2525203%252520%2525281%252529_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="218" height="291"></a></p> <p align="center">I think it rained for 45 minutes before we continued running again while it was still drizzling. It kinda feels better running in the rain coz it’s cooling, but it felt heavier. We ran for another 10km+ before the sun came out and things started to heat up. Not so funny…</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-fT96r77O8nM/T4gdu8PXs7I/AAAAAAAAHvI/Q8aGFJHL6ZA/s1600-h/photo%2525204%252520%2525281%252529%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="photo 4 (1)" border="0" alt="photo 4 (1)" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-osaY4Mg8TCg/T4gdvvkVFbI/AAAAAAAAHvQ/q5HOdzm6OHA/photo%2525204%252520%2525281%252529_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="218" height="291"></a> </p> <p align="center">It’s really not easy running 21km with no finisher T or medal to motivate you!! Aiyo… don’t know, don’t care la. Today got time ma today review lo.</p> <p align="center">It’s a rajin week!! Monday and Tuesday were rest days after a 12km run last Sunday.</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-w0VBx5hHd3Q/T21WLEgR7PI/AAAAAAAAHtY/tJf28DeGA34/s1600-h/180312%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="180312" border="0" alt="180312" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ge3e4ul0Rsg/T21WMc1GCVI/AAAAAAAAHtg/O_00GhCa3FU/180312_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="384" height="234"></a> </p> <p align="center">After that, the week started with a fast 5km run. </p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-w_s29G2mowE/T21WNSorUfI/AAAAAAAAHto/EF2_vyMMs8s/s1600-h/210312%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="210312" border="0" alt="210312" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-4fZviDon6o0/T21WO4__z4I/AAAAAAAAHtw/tQ99dlq5Vz0/210312_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="384" height="244"></a></p> <p align="center">Followed by a slow 10km run on Friday. Always love Friday when we finish work at 4:45pm. So being the good employee that I am, I started work on time and fuck off on time. Went home, cleaned and fed Kayden & Kenzie, off I went with my Vibram Fivefingers, Bikila. I’ve gotten the hang of running in them and I’m loving it. Matter of time before I get the SeeYa and Spyridon. Fucking whore…</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-2fkWnrYJWgo/T21WQBaerAI/AAAAAAAAHt4/wKW8HeXk5B8/s1600-h/230312%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="230312" border="0" alt="230312" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-qvF7y7S9EZE/T21WREkKrRI/AAAAAAAAHt8/Wwk3KcmagTY/230312_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="384" height="237"></a></p> <p align="center">And then we have today, set off to Bukit Apek for a quick hike. </p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-drawL58V_DQ/T21WSdPE3LI/AAAAAAAAHuE/lL4ITEeOm48/s1600-h/240312%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="240312" border="0" alt="240312" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-eW_fSNOuu9I/T21WTupRBBI/AAAAAAAAHuQ/dZC-CyokBjE/240312_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="384" height="232"></a> </p> <p align="center"></p> <p align="center"></p> <p align="center"></p> <p align="center"></p> <p align="center"></p> <p align="center">Wanted to go to Kiara trail tomorrow but no kaki. So that should make me quite tolerable to the sun’s heat, or so I thought… :|</span></p> <p align="justify"><span ><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-hxOmp1_cgm4/T12cpfWiWbI/AAAAAAAAHsk/Cb__aQNnozE/s1600-h/Garmin%252520910XT%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="Garmin 910XT" border="0" alt="Garmin 910XT" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-CW6VT2YVEtk/T12cqc6G37I/AAAAAAAAHss/3S2cYyHrE5c/Garmin%252520910XT_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="384" height="234" /></a> </span></p> <p align="justify"><span >This is the usual 5km loop that I will do during weekends (please don’t come and stalk me for signature, unless you are damn HOT!), only in the day as certain parts have no pedestrian walkway. When I’m feeling hardworking, I’ll do 2 loops. Normally just 1. If I do 1 loop, the timing is usually just under 30 minutes. But not yesterday...</span></p> <p align="justify"><span >Yesterday was suppose to be Brooks run, which I have registered. But since I’m still nursing an injury that I picked up from Singapore’s <a href="http://runifyoucan.blogspot.com/2012/02/mens-health-urbanathlon-singapore-2012.html" target="_blank">Urbanathlon</a>, and plus the fact that I didn’t know only top finishers get medals when I register (according to the website, but it turned out, everyone also got...)… I decided to skip the run. So after doing my laundry for the week, I put on my Adidas Adizero Feather and off I went. </span></p> <p align="justify"><span >The sky was clear and the time was 9am. Fuck me big time… it was HOT!!! First KM was ok… but after that, I could barely breath… :ssss My sweat was pouring like crazy and I had to stop to many times…</span></p> <p align="justify"><span >And this is freaking bad news. June will be my first 42km and the run starts early morning. And I’m pretty sure I’ll run pass 9am… WAY PASS… </span></p> <p align="justify"><span >So, this can only mean 1 thing. First of all, wearing it as a daily watch. 910XT definitely has a smaller and thinner profile. But what’s the point when you can’t display anything else except time!? Maybe I haven’t play with it much yet, but seriously… No dates? No seconds? I think… you can’t even set your OWN time… it’s either based on time zone, or automated… :s wtf… I don't know bout you, but I look at my watch for dates very often eg before I sign any thing...</span></p> <p align="justify" style="text-align: justify;font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><span >And the buttons… OMFG!!! WTF is wrong with you GARMIN!?!?!? Have you any idea how difficult it is to press you fucking buttons? Compared to the Timex Run Trainer, this is fucked up! The TRT’s buttons were a BREEZE!!!! Like super easy to press!!! The 910XT's buttons need some time to get use to...</span></p> <p align="justify" style="text-align: justify;font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><span >And your GPS… again, I may be wrong as I haven’t spend much time with it yet. There may be some shortcuts that I’m not aware of but I don't think there's a short cut to turning the GPS ON and OFF. Do I really need to go through so many STEPS just to turn the bloody GPS ON/OFF?! Do you know it’s just ONE step to on/off the GPS for the TImex Run Trainer?? GRRR… And I didn’t need to read any manual to know that…</span></p> <p align="justify" style="text-align: justify;font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><span >The position of the watch on my wrist is somehow… senget… Unlike the TRT, it sits nicely in the centre… The 910XT will tilt upwards. </span></p><p align="justify" style="text-align: justify;font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><span >Bad things aside, the 910XT definitely has much more whistles and bells, which I won't be dancing to as I'm just gonna run with it. </span></p><p align="justify" style="text-align: justify;"><span ><span style="font-size: 100%;">I like the display better than the TRT. And the backlight is definitely brighter and more visible. And most importantly, you can display 4 stats (same as TRT) and they are split into 4 </span>quadrants<span style="font-size: 100%;">. So they are very balanced in the screen. The TRT display them line by line, meaning up to 4 lines. And as a result, it gives you the feeling that you have some wasted space on the left part of the screen. </span></span></p> <p align="justify" style="text-align: justify;font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><span >Anyway, I switched to the 910XT because it’s a bit thinner, and of course, ‘Cannot run nevermind. Gaya mesti ada’. And it’s only been a few days since I bought it. So lets hope the experience gets better. </span></p>KYFKhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09447991598591049380noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6700213746310366866.post-89090811418090946382012-03-09T20:57:00.001+08:002012-03-09T20:57:30.012+08:00Mount Kinabalu – DNF<p align="center">Say harlo to Mr & Mrs Yong! The obstacles made it all so tougher. And the route is just SO SO SO SCENIC!!! </p> <p align="center">Continuing from the previous post, we were sleeping soundly when at 5am, I could hear the downpour outside. I was like ‘Shit… I didn’t come all the way here to sleep!!?’. Lucky the rain stop around 5:30am. We were suppose to meet another of our colleague at Inncrowd’s lobby at 6:15. So by 6am, we were at the lobby/lounge having some toast and hard boiled eggs. </p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-sHxVCbpmRbs/T0jebIVwy5I/AAAAAAAAHb8/HJUsYEwB4gU/s1600-h/P1050256%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050256" border="0" alt="P1050256" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-iqH4r6AY4CI/T0jeczqXwrI/AAAAAAAAHcE/d4GRWh7bzR0/P1050256_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="221" height="291"></a></p> <p align="center">So come 6:15, we took a slow walk towards The Plaza and meet another 2 more colleagues, which officially completed Team Ka Na Sai!! </p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ohGODbG5Qg0/T0jeeacL06I/AAAAAAAAHcM/jTtNjtHf3_c/s1600-h/P1050265%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050265" border="0" alt="P1050265" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-DFRs-mkx0PA/T0jefbQz24I/AAAAAAAAHcU/xCFfljqQM24/P1050265_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="262" height="291"></a> </p> <p align="center">The funny part was, our team Kapitan actually received a phone interview from some newspaper, to get some feedback from participants from the Financial Institutions. And when they heard that our team is made up of 2 Malaysians and 3 Singaporeans, they said ‘Oh… So your team name KNS is KL n Singapore?’.</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-jutWq270HTE/T0jehQfiJdI/AAAAAAAAHcc/mqoBcVv-SQE/s1600-h/P1050266%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050266" border="0" alt="P1050266" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-RH2_jinzNQ4/T0jejpjWUJI/AAAAAAAAHck/WAKJybFjS28/P1050266_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="384" height="291"></a> </p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-i3UzYL3luns/T0jellwm0TI/AAAAAAAAHcs/nj6Z98iQAmc/s1600-h/P1050268%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050268" border="0" alt="P1050268" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/--9pnqLBWqLw/T0jenyn4m5I/AAAAAAAAHc0/peiG0Wzxsms/P1050268_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="384" height="291"></a> </p> <p align="center">Sausage fest… </p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-Uqknso-Y5D0/T0jeqKhtBNI/AAAAAAAAHc8/_SbXPDZx1zo/s1600-h/P1050269%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050269" border="0" alt="P1050269" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-H_Y4ADv9LDI/T0jerjH1wFI/AAAAAAAAHdE/phQMDPSVuys/P1050269_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="384" height="291"></a> </p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-WTXqieOxquc/T0jetx6J_rI/AAAAAAAAHdM/MI69HJdZTwM/s1600-h/P1050273%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050273" border="0" alt="P1050273" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-HdKsoEuRR70/T0jev8t_TuI/AAAAAAAAHdU/b7K1tuXbmYE/P1050273_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="384" height="291"></a> </p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-HabBL8L2LSs/T0jeyJPZ7dI/AAAAAAAAHdc/qMlkymTJG94/s1600-h/P1050276%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050276" border="0" alt="P1050276" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-QpbysHX7YOc/T0jezjZhKcI/AAAAAAAAHdk/3XKExBQahR8/P1050276_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="384" height="291"></a> </p> <p align="center">One of the many CLEAR signages along the entire route.
